Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
