Kai Trump can count on numerous well-known cheerleaders as she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, was granted a tournament invitation to play at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.

The former president, someone who loves golf, operates multiple courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply stay calm."

"He basically suggested to go out there and have fun," she explained.

"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on running the country, so he's quite busy."

While still amateur, Kai has participated in only three events in 2024 and holds the 461st position in AJGA rankings.

But she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He represents the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's a superior individual. He advised me to go out there, have fun, following whatever happens."

Kai will face several top competitors in women's golf at the competition, featuring world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

The LPGA stated that involving Kai helps introduce golf to different demographics, especially reaching younger fans.

The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and has started a personal apparel and wellness label.

The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
